GRANT COUNTY PROSECUTOR

Reader endorses Lee

As a retired Washington State Patrol trooper, I would like to thank Grant County Prosecutor D. Angus Lee for the great job he is doing managing the Prosecutor's office, and specifically for his trial work in State vs. Zigan, a homicide case that he prosecuted. Angus prosecuted this case personally from A to Z, from the initial charging through to a successful trial. During trial it was readily apparent that Angus knew the case, the law, and courtroom procedure front to back. He was prepared, professional, calm, and articulate. He had accurately anticipated defense strategy and had an answer for every question asked by the court. Angus has a good reputation inside law enforcement for his trial work and this trial reinforced that belief. According to the lead investigator, Detective Dan Dale, the closing trial argument was the best he had heard in his 25 years of law enforcement. Angus has personally prosecuted other cases, including homicides, and I have been pleased by the results of his work every time. Angus has made his office accountable to the citizens of Grant County, but more importantly crime victims have a voice in the judicial system. I have faith in his ability to manage the office and to prosecute major cases.
