MOSES LAKE  - More than 100 people gathered to hear Grant County candidates speak Tuesday.

It was a question and answer format. Each table was asked to write down their questions on a piece paper and they were read aloud by an elected table leader.

"I thought the audience was very professional and attentive," said forum organizer Linda Bishop. "I was impressed so many people showed up. I thought it was a fair and balanced forum."

The event was moderated by Washington Republican National Committeewoman Fredi Simpson.

The event was hosted by The Grant County Republican Women.

Each candidate running for non-partisan positions were given three minutes to introduce themselves.

They were allowed to have one minute to answer questions from the audience. If a candidate attacked another candidate, the candidate would have 30 seconds to rebut.

No candidate had to rebut during the forum.

Each candidate had 2 minutes to make closing remarks.

Candidates running for partisan positions had similar rules applied with the exception of a 5 minute opener and 3 minutes for closing remarks.

Candidates for coroner, judge position 1, PUD position 2, PUD position B and sheriff spoke at the forum.

Moses Lake Mayor Jon Lane and councilmember David Curnel were present at the forum as well.
