MOSES LAKE - On Saturday, the Moses Lake Christian Academy Lions boys soccer team fell to visiting Mt. Vernon Christian 2-1 in a shootout.

The Lions (1-3) trailed 1-0 on a 74th minute strike from the visitors but equalized on a Lowell Kirkwood penalty kick four minutes later and right before the end of regulation.

In the shootout, the teams stayed equal after six attempts apiece before Mt. Vernon Christian gained the win on the seventh and last attempt.

Two days earlier the Lions earned their first win on the season with a 4-0 win at Dayton.

In order, Connor Webb, Kirkwood, Joshua Roberts, and Isaac Murrell scored to secure the resounding victory.

Webb assisted both Kirkwood and Roberts' goals.
