MOSES LAKE - Two tough losses in the first couple of games against visiting Richland aided in a third-game fallout by the Moses Lake Chiefs volleyball team Saturday.

Moses Lake fell 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-9) as they would ultimately run out of gas against the Bombers.

"I think we played really well in games one and game two and just didn't pass well in game three," Moses Lake head coach Amy Utter said. "We didn't pass the ball well and they went on a couple big serving runs and we could never regroup and couldn't get ourselves back into the match."

The lack of passing perfection was key in the Chiefs not getting better balls to setters Markie and Kenzie Fancher for them to run an efficient hitting attack.

Kayla Bernsen finished with eight kills and three blocks for Moses Lake while Kaydren Dunkin contributed seven kills and five blocks.

Markie Fancher finished with 14 assists and three service aces while Taylor Sonnenburg ended up with 12 digs to lead the Chiefs' (1-3, 1-2) defensive efforts.

"We are going to have to regroup and work on serving tough and, as a result, passing well," Utter said.

Moses Lake hosts Eisenhower tonight at 7 p.m. hoping to end their two-match losing streak in Big 9 play.
