Health fair offers screenings on Saturday
MOSES LAKE - The third annual Community Health Fair is Saturday.
Community members can get free screenings for diabetes, bone density, body fat analysis, blood pressure and pulmonary function as well as a free blood screening.
Samaritan Healthcare, Samaritan Foundation and Moses Lake Community Health are sponsoring the event, which aims to involve people in their own health plan and give back to community.
A basic chemistry panel and lipid profile will be available for $5. The test will measure cholesterol and glucose levels. Results will be mailed to participant's homes.
To ensure accuracy, health care providers ask that people wanting a basic panel should not eat or drink anything but water and prescription medicine for 12 hours before testing.
Flu shots are $30 and available to ages 9 and older.
Booths will offer information on diabetes, childhood development, childhood nutrition, smoking cessation, bariatric surgery, blood donation, mammography and oral health.
This year's Health Fair will be Saturday from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Chief Moses Middle School cafeteria, 1111 E. Nelson Rd. in Moses Lake.
