WILBUR - A tough road trip, coupled with a strong host, equalled a 3-0 (25-11, 25-5, 25-16) loss at Wilbur/Creston last night for the Wilson Creek Lady Devils.

Wilson Creek (6-6) was led by Kali Winfrey's four kills, three blocks, and two aces, while Holly Wilson chipped in with two kills and two blocks.

Wilson Creek head coach Mike Ottis called Winfrey's performance arguably the best of the season for the senior, citing her strong defense against the top-notch hitters for Wilbur/Creston.

"I do feel it was one of the better matches of the year especially in sets one and three," Ottis said. "We really battled with them. The score didn't indicate it but there were a lot of good rallies. I was really appreciative of the team's effort. It wasn't that quick of a match and we did battle which is nice."
