Mike Moro, representing the City of Moses Lake Municipal Services Department, submitted an application for a Substantial Shoreline Development Permit on Oct. 5, 2010. The application was determined to be substantially complete and ready for review on Oct. 15, 2010. The proposed project location is 802 S. Division St., and consists of upgrading the existing lift station, including larger pumps, relocation of electrical equipments and control panels, associated conduit, bypass port, wet well chute, installation of parking slab and a new generator. The project has been determined to be consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and the following Development Regulations are applicable to the project: City of Moses Lake Municipal Code Title 18 Zoning, Title 14 Environmental Regulation, and Title 20 Development Review Process, City of Moses Lake Shorelines Management Master Plan.
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for this project at 7:00 pm, Dec. 16, 2010 in the City Council Chambers located at 411 S. Balsam. All interested parties are encouraged to attend and make comment.
Comments on this proposal from public agencies with jurisdiction and comments on the environmental impacts of this proposal will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on November 18, 2010. Comments on other aspects of this proposal from the general public will be accepted up to the date of the public hearing. Public comment may be provided up to the date of the public hearing. In addition, persons who want to be informed of future actions or the final decision on this proposal should provide their name and address to the project planner listed below. The final decision on this proposal will be made within 120 days of the date of the notice of completeness and may be appealed according to the City appeal provisions specified in Moses Lake Municipal Code 20.11, Appeals. The application was determined to be substantially complete and ready for review on Oct. 12, 2010. The project location is 1534 Lakeway, and consists of installing a 14'x14' cover dock over an existing concrete footing with a 4'x26' free-standing walkway to a 10'x20' free-standing dock. The project also includes removal of aquatic vegetation under and adjacent to the walkway and dock to facilitate the installation of a 9'x10' boat lift and a 6'x12' jet-ski lift. LEGAL NOTICE
The filing period is now open for the position of Director for Division No. 5 in the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District. To serve as a Director, an individual must be a qualified voter within the Director Division he or she represents. To qualify as a voter, an individual must own land included within the District and vote in the Director Division in which he or she resides or is nearest to his or her residence.
Orman Johnson of Othello is the incumbent Director for Director Division 5. This Director Division is that part of the East District located in Franklin County and that part located in Adams County, bounded on the north by the Grant-Adams County line and on the east by the East District boundary. The west boundary of this Director Division follows Booker Road from the Grant/Adams County line to Cunningham Road, then follows Cunningham Road to the east for three miles to the range line separating Ranges 30 and 31 East (Fox Road and its extension) which it follows to the Franklin/Adams County line. The term will be for three years beginning in January 2011.
To file for the position of Director, a Declaration of Candidacy Petition, signed by at least 10 qualified votes in that Division must be filed in the East District office by 5:00 p.m. on November 1, 2010. The election date is December 14, 2010.
Candidacy petitions may be obtained by calling the East District's main office in Othello at 488-9671. The main office is located at 55 North 8th, Othello, Washington.
