Woman dead after possible hit-and-run

QUINCY — A woman died after a possible vehicle-pedestrian collision near Quincy on Wednesday around 6 a.m.

The female was hit once and possibly twice by passing vehicles, according to Grant County Undersheriff John Turley.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatality occurred four miles east of Quincy on state Route 28, according to the sheriff’s office.

Washington State Patrol investigators are treating the incident as a felony hit-and-run and possible vehicular homicide, according to Turley.

County detectives are assisting in the investigation.

The fatality shut down SR 28 until Wednesday evening, according to state patrol.

An autopsy was performed on the female by Samaritan Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities are waiting to notify the woman’s family before releasing any further information.
