WARDEN - Three seniors honored meant even more for the Warden Lady Cougars who recorded an important 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22) win over Kittitas last night.

Not only did the Lady Cougars pay tribute to seniors Carter Marks, Lindsay Cole, and Lara Crow, but they also resuscitated their district playoff push with the emphatic Central Washington South 2B league win against one of the state's best.

"It was exciting to play well and win against a team ranked ninth in the state coaches poll," Warden head coach Jeff Kottong said. "The Lady Cougars were prepared and excited for the match and their consistent and steady play paid off."

Warden (5-7, 5-5) were led by Marks' 11 kills and 23 digs, while Cole passed out 21 assists.

Narcy Guerra sparkled defensively for Warden with 29 digs, Iris Rodriguez added 34 digs and seven kills, while Chelsea Brown contributed six assists and two aces.

The girls' performances helped them come back a 19-14 deficit in game four to close out the win behind Brown's service game.

"All the girls played extremely well, but the digging and passing of Iris, the net play of Carter and the setting of Lindsay stand out," Kottong said. "By winning this game, it puts us in a solid third or fourth place in league which gives up an opportunity to play in post season."
