WARDEN - They just can't stop this winning thing.

Warden's Lady Cougars soccer team bumped its overall record to 8-3 and its Central Washington League record to 5-2 with last night's 5-0 thrashing of visiting Mabton.

Elizabeth Pruneda scored twice, once unassisted, as the Lady Cougars built a 4-0 halftime lead.

Pruneda also scored her first goal, three minutes prior, in the 32nd minute off of a Vickie Martinez feed.

Taylor Edson (eighth minute) and Alexys Jolley (10th minute) recorded Warden's first two scores.

Warden wrapped up an unbeaten, 7-0, home slate.

"This year has been good to play at home," Warden head coach Don Edson said. "When we played Manson the first time around we lost in a shootout.  We felt in that game that we had controlled the game and let the win slip away from us, so today was a chance to redeem ourselves."

Warden outshot Mabton 20-4.

Today was our last home game of the regular season.

"The girls were very excited to send our seniors out with one last home win," Don Edson said. "From the first whistle the girls played with energy and teamwork.  We played well working the ball outside and setting passes to the middle to find the open spots in the defense.  The whole team was working together moving the ball around.  It was exciting to send the seniors off with one last win at home.
