QUINCY - With a slight chance to qualify for next week's CWAC district playoffs, the Quincy Lady Jacks played host to Selah last night with hopes of keeping their season alive for one more week at least.

An early Kala Brindle goal gave Quincy a glimmer of hope as they led 1-0 after nine minutes.

But then Selah would run off five unanswered goals, four before halftime, and hold on for a key 7-3 win, to eliminate the Jacks from playoff contention.

Quincy (2-6 in CWAC) got another score from Brindle in the 60th minute and teammate Amanda Paniagua struck the net in the 77th minute.

"We recognize and are thankful for the play from our outgoing seniors, Ashley Stetner, Brenda Fregoso, Blanca Corona, Julie Storjord, and Karoline Kjoller," Quincy head coach Matthew Kimmel said. "The game got lively at the end, but the effort was not enough to overtake the Vikings."
