Betty Louise Fifield Goude

Betty Louise Fifield Goude, age 74, passed away October 16th, 2010 in Richland, WA, after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born to Lester and Dorothy Mae Jones Fifield in Washtucna, WA on December 20th, 1935.

She married her love, Delmer Zane Goude on September 1, 1951 and settled into the life of a farmer’s wife and began raising a family. In 1972, they moved to the Tri-Cities and eventually settled in the remainder of their lives in Kennewick.

Betty had many life-long friends and fond memories of living on the farm, but carved out a new life after their move to town. She loved her children and spent countless hours with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was known as a great cook, a great bowler, seamstress, loved music and tending her flowers and gardens, but most of all tending to her duties as a mother and grandmother.

If you knew the Goudes, you also knew their house was filled with music, laughter, kids, friends and most of all, love, all nurtured by our Mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Walt Fifield and Roy Haase, husband Delmer, a son, Brian Goude and grandson-in-law Geoff Gilbert and a great-grandson in infancy, Jerimyah Christian Jones. She is survived by her brother, Steven Fifield and wife Lequita of Greenacres, WA, her 4 children, Gerald and Robin Goude (Moses Lake), Karen and Don Landoni (Pasco), Patty and Steve Kessie (Kennewick), and Janice Goude Beckner, and daughter in-law, Donna Kostoff Goude also of Kennewick , with 22 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.

An active member of her church, Mom was a member of the Edison Ward of the Kennewick East Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in a number of capacities including Librarian & Genealogy Name Extraction and Stake Relief Society. She was also a member of the Washington State Old-Time Fiddlers Association and numerous bowling teams and leagues.

A viewing for the public will be 6-8 p.m. October 22nd at Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home at 1401 S. Union in Kennewick, WA. Church services will be at 10 a.m. October 23rd at the Edison Ward LDS church at 515 S. Union also in Kennewick. There will be a graveside services at the Washtucna Cemetery at 3 p.m. October 23rd, in Washtucna, WA.
