| October 19, 2010 1:00 PM

EPHRATA — The second half of Grant County property taxes are due by Nov. 1.

Since Oct. 31 is on a weekend, the deadline is extended to the following Monday. Payments may be made by mail or brought to the Treasurer’s Office on the second floor of the Grant County Courthouse. A drop-box will be available in the office for people who don’t want a receipt.

Treasurer Darryl Pheasant stated people mailing their payments should make sure it’s postmarked on or before Nov. 1. They also should send in the coupon on the bottom right corner with the statement.

People with multiple statements can make out one check for the total amount.

If a person misses the deadline, the account is charged 1 percent in interest per month and assessed an 8 percent fee if the payment isn’t made by Nov. 30.

For more information contact the treasurer’s office at 509-754-2011.
