"Why I love America" essays from local students:

I Love America

Do you know why I'm proud to live in America?  Of course not, let me tell you then...because of all the freedoms!  You're free to go anywhere in America, like Seattle and back.  Also, you actually get to take care of pets, some owners don't have time to take care of pets in other countries because they have to go to work.  Also, we're lucky to still have a home, in other countries people have to give up their home which is sad, but that doesn't happen anymore.  I love America because it has so many things to offer.

Why I Love the U.S.A.

So the Columbia Basin Herald wants to know why I love the U.S.A.  I'm going to tell them.  Ok...I very much like my country because it has lots of different animals.  Last summer I went to Yellowstone and I saw elk, swans, grizzly bears, and a black bear.  The grizzly mommy and her cub, a baby bear, were very far down in a valley, but that black bear was all alone.  It was digging up rocks looking for goodies.  Those elk, a mom and baby again, were so close it felt like I could almost jump on them!  That's why I love my country!

I Love America!

Do you know what my favorite country is?  It's U.S.A.!  The U.S.A. has the freedom to vote for President and others that you need to vote for.  In some countries, only men have the privilege to vote.  In the U.S.A. everybody can vote.  I also like the U.S.A. because it has advanced technology, and as the days pass, people make new technology.  Right now the advanced technology is an Xbox 360.  I like the U.S.A. because I know more technology will come!  Now you know why the U.S. is awesome.

Why I Love America

I love the United States of America because it is a beautiful country!  We have the freedom to vote.  We had to fight the British for freedom.  Americans you see today, their ancestors were probably in danger because of all the wars going on.  I know because my aunt and uncle were in the Navy.  Luckily, they're still alive, not like some people.  Some people were taken from their families during the wars.  One of the wars was the Vietnamese.  We should be lucky.

U.S.A.

I like the U.S. because it has the most powerful Navy in the world!  I picked this because I have a cousin in the Navy.  It sounds like a REALLY cool job to me!  The Navy is internationally abled, meaning it deals with multiple countries.  They work on the sea, and I love the sea!  The U.S. has AWESOME music too!  I personally like Nickelback which is a rock/metal band.  I also like Brantly Gilbert and Jason Aldean, which are country/southern rock people.  I favor some countries, but I like the U.S. as well.

Why I Love America

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Abe Lincoln. This is one reason I love America.

We are able to enjoy many freedoms. We are able to go to school to learn. We also have the freedom of speech, freedom to worship how we want and to vote for our government leaders.

We have laws that help Keep order and America a safe land. They protect us and give us guidelines to how we should live.

In conclusion, you can see some of the reasons why I love America. We have a great country that helps us live good lives.

Why I Love America

I love America because we have all the rights we want. My favorite right is black people can have the same rights as white people. And another right I love is the right to vote. So no one can tell you what King or Queen you have or what president you have. It is all fair when people can vote and also nobody can say what sport you have to do or what you have to like or eat or drink. Also all the laws are fair. On Earth Day my friend Dylan and I went on a bike ride around our whole neiborhood and picked up every single peice of littored garbage to show we loved America and all its rights and its laws. I'm Isaiah and this is a fact not an opinion.

By: Isaiah Whitman

Why I Love America

I love America because we make cool race cars and I hope to buy one when I get older. We also make the IPhone and have the best computer company in the world, Microsoft. I also love America because all of my family lives here and we can visit and see each other on weekends and holidays. My mom and dad always tell me that America is the best place to live because of our freedom and our right to vote. I also can pick any college that I want to go to and can practice basketball so I can one day make it into the NBA. I love America.

By: Jayden Hippolyte

I love America because of her many freedoms and all the activities I get to do. Everyone has equal rights. I like that there are no slaves. I like the freedom of religion for we get to decide what church to go to. I like the right of assembly because you could get together as a group like boy scouts. As a boy scout I get to go camping. I like the landmarks; Niagara Falls, Yellowstone, The Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Columbia River. My favorite landmark is the Cape Disappointment state park by the river and the ocean.

By: Bailey Duvall

Why I Love America.....I've never been asked that question; I would say my rights and opportunities.

Rights we have here I feel are different from other places like Africa. One reason, religion; I've got a right to believe in what I want to believe in they don't.

Finally opportunities, an essay last year asked "What I want to be when I grow up", I said "U.S. soldier". Now I want to be a Veterinarian. I adore the fact that I've got the opportunity to do it.

I hope you know why I love America and what I would say.

My Grandpa served in World War 2, and he came home UNHARMED! My grandpa died in 2000, 6 months before I was born.

I love being an American because we can study anything. We can have any career. I can grow up to be anything I want.

We are free, we have no slaves. We are also a great country because we have presidents and laws that keep us safe.

I am Mormon I believe that Mormonism couldn't have started if it was not for the freedom of religion.

I love being an American we help each other out!

When I think of America, I think of red, white, and blue. I think of the Grand Canyon, the Statue of Liberty, Abraham Lincoln, the Yankee Stadium, and many more amazing places and people. America is not only a country of great people and places it is a country of many different sports, religions, and people. I love America because it is my home, life and future.

By: Noah Torres

I love America for many reasons. First, we have freedom. With your freedom you can play with your friends, have animals, and play at parks. Another reason why I love America is because you can choose your religion. I think it's important because some people want to choose their religion. Lastly, I love America because you have freedom of speech. Being an American I can talk about anything that I want without getting into trouble. Some other countries you can go to jail for saying what you want. I love America because I can do what I want, choose my own religion, and say what I want.

By: Kailee Swartz

I love America because of freedom. To begin with, Freedom of press. Press is recording or taking pictures of people and things. Freedom of assembly which is freedom of having gatherings, groups, and clubs. Freedom of speech is where you can say whatever you want whenever. Freedom of religion gives us the right to pick our church and religion. The "Bill of Rights" I think are the most important freedoms. I love America so much because we are free.

By: Braxson Crum

"For the land of the free and the home of the brave!" Yep, that's America! Justice - my name relates to America!

When I was in Kindergarden and my teachers said we were going to say the flag salute, I always said "for Liberty and me, for all").

Anyways, America to me means FREEDOM. You may not know, but my great grandfather was in World War II. He was in the army. His name was Myron Michael Haynes. It's said because two years ago he died of Luekimia.

It makes me proud that we live in a free country because we have the right of religion, the right of speech and right to pick our leaders!

All in all America is my life!

By: Justice

I love America because of the history in the country. To begin with, Thomas Edison invented "Light". Many Americans use light bulbs every day. Next, Albert Eienstein was kicked out of school because they thought he was talking back when he was trying to tell her the answer. Abraham Lincoln, before he was president, he was at a cabin chopping trees. The way Lincoln died was tragic. He died by getting shot when he was watching a theater. They never caught the criminals. To end with, George Washington was the US's' first president when he was president he was in a couple of our first wars. That's way I love America!

By: Payton Castro

What I love about America? I'll tell you a couple of things. I love America because their is no law for your color everyone is treated the same. Also, we have our freedom.

First, I would like to give a thank you to everyone that is serving our country. God bless you all! My uncle was in the military for a couple of years. He told me it was hard training, but he still made it. Also, I love America because there is not a law for your color. Last, we have freedom of religion, to vote, and freedom of speech. As you can see I love America.

By: Niria Mathews

I used to not like living in America because my sister would always tell me what to do. But now that I'm older I think differently. I like the freedom of my religion and speech. I also love America because of our United States Military. When I graduate from High School I will join the United States Military to be part of the brotherhood who supports and defends our country with honor and respect. Most of my family have been in the military. I think I owe it to my country to serve as a soldier. My name is Hunter Cruz and I will be a United States Marine.

By: Hunter Cruz

First I'm going to talk about freedom. One of the freedoms we have is choices, we get a choice to vote for a new president they don't randomly pick a president. Or vote for a new sheriff. Another freedom is to speak our minds if we disagree or don't like some thing we may say. Lastly come and go as we please. In other countries you can't.

LAWS:

1 law is speedlimits. No speedlimits = crashes. Montana has no speedlimits. Next, safety no cops = killing, robbings, accedents. I love America & our laws, freedom.

By: Kaylyn Orozco

I love America because, you are able to have any religion you want because of the Bill of Rights and believing in God or any other beliefs. So haveing freedom to believing in anything is important to me and my family. But what I also love about America is your rights. Because you are able to have any kind of career you want. You can also go to school so you can have knowledge. So having rights is very important. This is why I love America.

By: Max Conard

My name is Maya. I'm going to explain to you why I love America! To begin with, I love this we have rights. We have the right to vote. We have the freedom to get dressed anyway we want. Just think of the five rights. Next, I'd like to talk about our style and culture. For example culture could be the music we listen to or it could be the fact that so many different kinds of people live here. Well I think I said it all. America Rocks!

By: Maya Garza

I am very proud to be an American! I don't even know what feels like not to be free. I can have friends that aren't my color. We can pick are religion and faith. We also get to pick to be in the service. My brother chose to be a Marine. Jacob Crowell is fighting in Afganistan and he has been a marine for 5 years. He started when I was 5 years old. I am proud to be a sister of a marine. I am also proud to be an American.

By: Claire Smith

The reason why I love America is because of the rights I have. One right is you can choose where you want to go to. Another one is you can choose what school you want to go to. Also you can choose what job you want to have. You also have freedom to say how you feel.

I also love America because of all the people of America are kind. Some aren't but most of us are kind and helpful.

Finally I love America because of all the things we get to do in school, like have programs that help people who have cancer.

That is why I love America!!!

By: Alie

I Love America

What do you love about America? I love America because people don't get bossed around but have freedom.

To begin, America lets you believe in any religion you choose. Imagine if you couldn't believe in your religion!

Also, in America we have the freedom of speech. In other countries you can't say anything bad about the government or you get thrown in prison. In America, some people get famous criticizing, like Glen Beck.

Those are a few things that make me love America. What do you love about America?

By

Garrett, fourth grade, Lakeview Elementary

Have you ever thought about what you love about America? Here are several things I love about America.

Freedom of speech, if we didn't have freedom of speech there would be less to talk about, politically and religiously.

Freedom to choose my way of schooling, if we weren't able to choose our schooling, our desire to learn would be even less.

Free enterprise, if we didn't have free enterprise our needed farmers and shop keepers would not want to work. Which would lead to famine and shops closing down.

In conclusion no freedom means no America.
