Election certified, with 72 percent voter turn out

MOSES LAKE - It's official, Grant County will have a new sheriff, coroner and PUD commissioner.

The auditor's office counted 24,425 ballots, out of a total of 33,352 registered voters in Grant County.

There was a 72 percent voter turn out for the 2010 general election.

All candidate races followed initial voting trends from election night without any candidate lead reversals.

Sheriff elect Tom Jones beat Frank DeTrolio with 57 percent.

Coroner elect Craig Morrison unseated Dave Matney with 59 percent.

Dale Walker won PUD Commissioner Position 2, beating Patti Paris, with 51 percent.

All other Grant County races re-elected incumbent candidates.

Prosecutor Angus Lee beat his opponent Albert Lin with 52 percent.

District Court Judge Richard Fitterer defeated his challenger Patrick Earl with 54 percent.

PUD District B Commissioner Bob Bernd won the position against Ron Baker with 54 percent.
