Warden, Soap Lake athletes recognized
COLUMBIA BASIN - Warden and Soap Lake High School fall athletes earned Central Washington 2B All-League accolades as the league recently announced its recipients.
In soccer, the Warden girls, who play today in the Class 2B state semifinals, were led by first teammers, Deianeria Caudle (goaltender), Tawnie Gonzalez (defender), and Taylor Edson (midfielder).
Second team selections were Leslie Estrada (midfielder) and Brylee Whitney (striker), while honorable mention selections went to Elizabeth Pruneda (defender) and Alexys Jolley (midfielder).
Coach Don Edson was named the league's Coach of the Year..
Football players from both schools were given plenty of recognition.
For Warden, the league recognized, Adam Hansen (first team running back, second team linebacker),Victor Flores (first team wide receiver, second team defensive back), Eden Duarte (first team linebacker, second team offensive lineman), Jesse Madrigales (first team defensive back), Trent Bates (second team quarterback), Tanner Jolley (second team defensive lineman), J.P. Martinez (honorable mention wide receiver), Nathaniel Gordon (honorable mention offensive lineman), Garritt Marks (honorable mention defensive lineman), and Osvaldo Alba (honorable mention punter).
Representing the Soap Lake Eagles were Jacob Treat (first team defensive line, second team punter, honorable mention wide receiver), Anthony King (first team defensive back, second team wide receiver),Leo Rodriguez (second team offensive and defensive lineman), Pavel Turchik (second team running back, honorable mention linebacker), David Coreas (honorable mention quarterback and linebacker), and Stinus Resen (second team kicker).
In volleyball, Warden setter Lindsay Cole was named first team, while fellow Lady Cougars Carter Marks and Iris Rodriguez were second team selections.
Soap Lake's Deonne Ramm and Aspen King were given honorable mention.
