MOSES LAKE - Law enforcement arrested a Moses Lake man Thursday afternoon after he allegedly fled on foot from Grant County District Court in Moses Lake.

Authorities at the satellite courthouse allegedly requested the arrested man, Anthony J. Aswell, 22, Moses Lake, be taken back into custody when he fled on foot from the courthouse heading westbound on Wheeler Road, according to Sgt. Ken Jones.

Aswell was appearing in district court for nine cases, according to court records. Many of the cases were for driving while his license was suspended, but he also faced cases involving charges of resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer.

While facing a charge of violating his probation for DUI, Aswell allegedly fled the courtroom and ran for 15 minutes before being arrested.

No one was injured, Jones said.

Aswell was transported to Grant County Jail.

He has been previously booked on charges of drug paraphernalia possession, dangerous weapon possession, driving with license suspended in the second degree and resisting arrest and obstructing law enforcement, according to past police records.

Moses Lake police assisted Grant County Sheriff's Office with the chase.
