Consignment sale starts Friday

MOSES LAKE — A chance to start Christmas shopping early is taking place at the Grant County Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday.

The Columbia Basin Herald’s Community Consignment Sale helps people sell used or unused clothing.

People selling clothes make money for the holidays and people looking for bargains can look through 50 tables worth of items, according to Columbia Basin Herald Publisher Harlan Beagley.

Some people, like his wife, own clothes with price tags still attached, he said.

The event is from noon to 6 p.m., on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Some tables may remain available for folks looking to unclutter their home. A percentage of sales will go to the organizers.

The registration deadline is Friday.

Sellers need to visit the Columbia Basin Herald’s office to complete a registration form and sign a consignor agreement. The newspaper is located at 813 W. Third Ave., in Moses Lake.

Clothing must be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., on Friday at the 4-H building at the fairgrounds.

For more information, call Lynn Garza at 509-765-4561, ex. 127, or e-mail her at lgarza@columbiabasinherald.com.

A food drive for the Moses Lake Food Bank is also being held during the event.

To enter a raffle for an overnight stay at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, bring nonperishable food items to the event.
