MOSES LAKE - SGL Carbon Fibers Automotive joined Big Bend Community College's Pre-Employment Training (PET) Program to hire workers for its Moses Lake plant.
For those wanting to work in an entry-level job at the plant, a five-week, 100-hour training program begins Nov. 29, said Jennifer Thomas, PET program coordinator.
There are no guarantees, but SGL plans to hire graduates from the program to work at its carbon fiber plant.
To sign up, people need to attend a informational session at 6 p.m., Wednesday, at WorkSource Central Basin, located at 309 E. Fifth Ave., Moses Lake.
There's room for about 25 people in the upcoming class.
The training includes computer technology, safety, math, quality and continuous improvement.
The program also offers tours of area manufacturing companies and the chance to meet with current employees there.

SGL is expected to start hiring in January.
It was initially anticipated SGL would hire 80 people and later increase to 200 workers.
A new class starts every two months, she said.
"This training is a must for anyone who is looking for a career in manufacturing, especially at SGL," Thomas stated. "This is a sure fire way to set yourself apart and get your foot in the door at SGL or any of the other participating manufacturing companies."
Thomas said the program has a 97 percent hiring rate.
Some students participated in the program for informational purposes, but "everyone who took the class and wanted a job was hired."
The Nov. 29 class is the program's eighth class.
Companies that hired from the PET program are: SVZ, Columbia Colstor, Quincy Foods, LaserFab, Simplot Moses Lake, Simplot Othello, Genie Industries, McCains and Lamb Weston BSW.
