| November 16, 2010 12:00 PM

Paulina D. Goodall, a 35 year resident of Moses Lake, WA passed away on Nov. 10, 2010 after recently relocating to Colville, WA. Paulina was born on April 28, 1919 in Bakersfield, CA the daughter of Michael and Nina (Randall) Lacasella.

She was raised in Bakersfield where she attended school and graduated in 1937 from the Kern County Union High School. Paulina then attended Santa Barbara State for two years. While on a blind date, she met John Goodall, the son of the physician that delivered her. Their date ignited a love that lasted 71 years in marriage. They were wed on Oct. 21, 1939 in Bakersfield and began a family. In 1940 they moved to Yuba City, CA where Paulina continued to pour her love and dedication into her growing family. While in Yuba City, she shared her gift of music and through her Catholic faith as the organist and pianist of the St. Isadore Parish and member of the Catholic Daughters. Their family then relocated to Moses Lake, WA in 1975 where they would reside for the next 35 years. Paulina was actively involved with the lives of her husband and six children and committed to her faith community at Our Lady of Fatima as the parish pianist. In 2010, Paulina and John left Moses Lake to receive the additional attention and care of their family in Colville.

Paulina was an adventurous spirit, who took her family camping, hiking and shared many youthful and memorable trips with them. Her love of the arts, music and the theater complimented her creative heart and vivacious nature. She fondly anticipated her yearly springtime trips to San Francisco with her husband, John. There they would seek out fine cuisine and immerse themselves in the Opera, Theater and musical concert. She created many fond summertime memories with her family at their Lake Tahoe cabin. Paulina found enjoyment simply watching her family around her, observing nature and watching baseball, especially the San Francisco Giants. The greatest gift she gave to her family was her love and her life of 71 years with her husband, John. With pure heart and sincere affection, John summated his life with Paulina by eloquently stating, "she was my love."
