| November 12, 2010 12:00 PM

Melissa L. Mulliner, 40, of Quincy, WA died October 20, 2010 near Quincy. She was born October 12, 1970 in Dinuba, CA.

Melissa will be remembered for her love of others, caring for and teaching children never meeting a stranger. She loved family get-togethers for fellowship, picnics and BBQ's on July 4th. When Melissa was a youngster her adventurous spirit shined forth, she, along with her 2 older brothers Colin and Steven (outside in the backyard) were to be washing her mom's car decided to use the top and trunk as a slip & slide, her little brother Brad was supposed to be the "lookout" for mom, Melissa decided that looked like a lot of fun and she decided to try it on her "tummy" and she ended up landing headfirst which resulted in a big "egg" on her head! She would often meet someone who appeared in need or less fortunate and she would leave them with a big smile on their face! Some of her favorites were the color green, roses, shopping, songs "Take Your Light and Light Up the World" and "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus. She loved cars, especially her own. She loved to learn about them; how they work and how to fix them. She loved fishing, the lake, being by the water. She loved animals, especially her dogs and cat. She loved horses and as a young teenager, she had a horse of her own, while living with Paul and Leann. She loved computers and was intrigued about how they worked and all they could do. Melissa worked several fast-food jobs and always quickly was promoted to management. She put herself through school and became a dental hygienist, which she graduated at the top of her class. She worked at Ochoa Foods in Warden, now Lamb Weston in the lab and again quickly ascended to management.

Melissa was a devoted Christian; she attended the Foursquare Church in Chelan and Grace Harvest Church in Moses Lake and was truly blessed by the examples and friendship of Pastor Doug Sherman, Youth Pastor Raul Figueroa, Terina Kile and Dave Hubbard. She loved to help teach and care for young children.

Melissa is survived by her dear mother Linda Walters of Ephrata, WA; sons Nathon Mulliner, Moses Lake and Marcus Mulliner, daughter Kendra Hawkins, son Isaiah Hawkins and daughter Sasha Richardson all of Shelton, WA; very special friend Jose Martinez and countless others whom she would consider her friend who loved her and were loved by her as well.
