Newspaper hosts consignment sale

MOSES LAKE — Are outgrown clothes cluttering your kids’ closets and dressers?

Are you ready to organize your own closet?

Do you want extra cash for the holidays?

The Columbia Basin Herald’s Community Consignment Sale on Nov. 19-20 at the Grant County Fairgrounds is one way to unclutter your home and make extra money.

Space is limited and half of the 50 available tables are already spoken for, Columbia Basin Herald Publisher Harlan Beagley said.

He encouraged adult service clubs and youth organizations to gather clothing and send a group representative to the event to help their cause.

Some people, like his wife, own clothes with price tags still attached, he said.

Here is how the sale works: you receive 70 percent of the profit for the clothing items sold during the event. The remaining 30 percent goes to the newspaper to pay for costs associated with hosting the sale.

Accepted items include: skirts, sweaters, blouses, pants, shorts, skirts, jeans, Capri’s, dresses, suits, jackets, blazers, cocktail dresses, special occasion dresses, wedding gowns, handbags, hats, belts, scarves, shoes, jewelry, children’s clothing and maternity clothing.

If you’re not able to staff your table, let organizers know ahead of time. You can still participate, but will only receive 25 percent of the sales.

The event is held from noon to 6 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 19, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 20.

The registration deadline is Friday.

Visit the Columbia Basin Herald’s office to complete a registration form and sign a consignor agreement. The newspaper is located at 813 W. Third Ave., in Moses Lake.

Clothing must be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 19, at the 4-H building at the fairgrounds.

A food drive for the Moses Lake Food Bank is also being held during the event.

To enter a raffle for an overnight stay at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, bring nonperishable food items to the event.
