On May 1, Vision 2020 volunteers held its eighth annual City Wide Clean up. Over 250 people attended this event to help clean up litter throughout the city. We are grateful for these dedicated citizens willing to make Moses Lake a better place to live. This year’s winners of the traveling garbage can trophy went to the Columbia Basin Job Corp Students and Supervisor Susan Mann.
Once again, we also had the support of Michael’s On The Lake, who prepared and donated not only their employee’s time, but enough hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, salad and soft drinks for the clean up crews. Lakeside Disposal donated their truck and driver, John Lunderville who also donated his time to collect and crush over 1,100 pounds of litter. The following Saturday, Brian Barlow and his Church Youth Conference Team cleaned Highway 17 and delivered to Consolidated Disposal Service for disposal. Without the support and assistance from the City of Moses Lake, this event would not have the success that it does.
Vision 2020 is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Moses Lake. We urge you to continually help in keeping our city clean and support the Adopt-A-Street Program. If you are interested in adopting a two-block area, please contact the city of Moses Lake Park and Recreation Department at 766-9240.
