Nenita Dalauta Lyerly
Nenita Dalauta Lyerly 65 of Ephrata passed away May 13, 2010 in her home in Ephrata.
She was born March 31, 1945 to Gregorio and Damiana (Amploquio) Dalauta in Santa Ines, Philippines. She attended the secondary school Leurdes College all Girls school, in Cagyan deOro City, Philippines, and then pursued her College Degree in education at the prestigious Xavier University before transferring to Cebu University of Visayas, where she met her first husband. Ning (as she was referred to by family and friends) completed her education at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan. She taught in Michigan for many years before moving to Washington State with her second husband. She received her Masters in Education at Central Washington University. Soon after she became a beloved kindergarten teacher with the Ephrata School District, where she taught for 23 years.
Nenita loved hosting parties, cooking delicious food, laughing, dancing, traveling, jewelry, shopping, giving her loved ones trinkets, teaching everyone skills, helping those in need, and she especially loved her family. She will be missed.
Nenita married Hugh Lyerly on May 31, 1986 in Soap Lake, Washington. Nenita was a member of the Ephrata First Presbyterian Church in Ephrata, Washington.
Nenita is survived by Three daughters Jennifer Foley of Ephrata WA; Stephanie Stevens (Zak) of Quinnesec, MI. Ninnette Robare of Seattle WA. Sisters Susana Lopez of Ephrata, WA. Roquesa Lastimosa, of the Philippines and Ester Pajarillo of Spokane, WA. Brothers Rustico Dalauta, Renario Dalauta, Vitaliana Dalauta. All of the Philippines. Grandchildren Jeffrey & Eric Foley of Ephrata , WA. And Odin and Lana Stevens of Quinnesec , MI.
Nenita is also survived by her close friends. Camilla Hatch, Emerita Kent, Anita Berner ,Marcia Ness, Diane Guerrero, Donna McNeil, Clarivel Burke, Dorothy Anderson, Kate Smith, Kathy Hamlett, Judy Witte and Billie Watson.
A viewing will be held Friday May 21, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata, Washington, and Saturday May 22, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church located at 172 Ivy St SE Ephrata, WA Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at The First Presbyterian Ephrata WA burial to follow at the Ephrata Cemetery.
A Luncheon will be held following the burial at the Ephrata Middle School Cafeteria.
