EPHRATA — Construction in Ephrata is going to close several streets in Ephrata starting Monday.

The construction is part of Ephrata’s $10 million project to replace water pipes and repave streets in the city. The project is in its third phase of four phases this year.

Construction is affecting Nat Washington Way, A Street Southeast, Swanson Addition and roads between 16th Avenue Southwest and Third Avenue Southwest.

• Nat Washington Way is going to be blocked. Drivers will be detoured to Division Street.

• The northbound lane of A Street Southeast is going to blocked for people traveling from the middle school to Nat Washington Way. Drivers leaving the school need to continue to state Route 282 when they leave the school. City staff warns traffic congestion could be extreme when parents are dropping students off or picking them up.

• The majority of work in the Swanson Addition is occurring on Thurston and Orchard Streets, and crews are grinding the pavement starting at 16th Avenue Southwest heading toward Third Avenue Southwest.

Crews work from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. starting Monday until Thursday.
