State high school rodeo finals next weekend

MOSES LAKE — The Grant County Fairgrounds’ outdoor Roundup Arena will be the site of the 2010 Washington State High School Rodeo Finals next weekend.

The three-day event takes place May 29 - 31 and starts each day at 10 a.m., with an Exceptional Rodeo planned for Saturday night at 5 p.m.

Admission is free.

High school students from Washington, Idaho, and Oregon will compete for an opportunity to compete at the National High Rodeo Finals in Gillette Wyoming in July.

In addition to the rodeo competition, there will be the 2010-2011 Queen contest which will take place over the weekend. Time of the competition are still to be announced.

Themes for each rodeo day are still pending announcement.

Senior Grand entry will take place with the senior athletes in cap and gown horseback while the year-end awards ceremony and scholarships will take place following the conclusion of Monday’s performances and wraps up the weekend.
