EPHRATA — A Coulee City man was convicted of molesting his step-daughter for about two years.

A jury found Rodney R. G. Reedy, 42, guilty of two counts of child molestation in the first degree after less than three hours of deliberation.

“The fact that the jury returned their guilty verdict in under four hours speaks highly of the hard work of the deputy prosecutors,” stated Prosecutor Angus Lee.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 22 and Reedy faces between 5.6 years and 7.4 years.

“Based on the egregious nature of the offenses and the extreme vulnerability of the victim in this case, the State will be seeking the maximum sentence of 89 months,” Lee stated.

Reedy has a past DUI conviction.

He was accused of molesting his step-daughter multiple times while she was staying in her mother’s house between 2003 and 2005, according to the Grant County sheriff’s report. The victim was between 6 and 8 years old during the incidents.

Reedy told the girl the incidents were their secret, according to the police report. No threats were reported.
