Elizabeth J. 'Betty' Rosenow

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Rosenow, 82, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010, surrounded by her husband and children at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Rice officiating. Betty was born on February 9, 1928 in Cutknife, Saskatchewan, Canada, daughter of the late John and Miriam McCormick. Betty was married for 48 years to her devoted husband Allan. Betty and Al raised five children, Leah, Barbara, Cindy, Mike and Robert.

Betty in her younger years was an avid bowler, loved to read and study her Bible. She enjoyed her garden and especially her roses. Allan and Betty also enjoyed traveling, camping in local campgrounds and visiting relatives in Canada. The biggest joy in her life was when family gathered together.

Betty was employed as a nurse aide, working in central supply at Samaritan Hospital for eleven years. She tutored elementary students through a program, Youth Senior Connections at United Methodist Church. Betty and her husband have been members of United Methodist Church for many years, and they enjoyed volunteering in the Sunrise Kiwanis Club.

Betty is survived by her spouse Allan, Moses Lake; her children Leah (Mike) Wassink, Yakima, Barbara (Kelly) Heath, Lake Tapps, WA, Cindy (Sonny) Mike, Olympia, Michael (Shirley) Woodworth, Moses Lake and Robert Rosenow, Moses Lake; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-children and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Kyle Rosenow.
