Beautiful weather highlights Chamber golf tournament

MOSES LAKE — According to some golfers, the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament has been blessed by lovely weather for the last few years.

Friday was no different as 112 participants, making up 28 teams took part in the 10th annual gathering at Moses Lake Country Club.

The scramble tournament format rewarded four teams for their top performances and 10 individual winning efforts on the day.

In the Low Gross Men’s Team competition, the Silverbow Honey team of Jeff Allen, Mark Grigg, Gary Grigg, and Ricky Gleed, won with a score of 57.

The Coldwell Banker Tomlinson Ranch & Home score of 56 was enough to earn them the Low Net Men’s Team win. Chris Blessing, Mark Fancher, Reed Raymond, and Bob Fancher made up the Coldwell Banker squad.

With a score of 60, Guild Mortgage took the Low Gross Mixed Team prize as Larry Shannon, Anne Fisher, Jeff Kehl, and Cody Lamb pulled out the victory.

Also the Low Net Mixed Team prize went to Lost Faculties and their 54 score as PJ DeBenedetti, Dave Balcom, Michelle Price, and Linda McKay rolled to claim the crown.

In individual competitions, Gleed earned the men’s longest drive honors and Joe Carpenter of Discovery Ford/Honda Team, recorded the longest men’s put — 38’8”.

Ben Lindsey of Samaritan Healthcare team earned the honors for the best men’s drive accuracy, and the Men’s KP (“closest to the pin”) went to Kerrey Graham with a 13’10” result.

On the women’s side, Norma Garcia-Park recorded the longest drive as a representative of NW Farm Credit team while the longest putt of 21’ was registered by Anne Fisher of Guild Mortgage.

Women’s top accuracy for a drive went to Janea Eng of Eng Insurance & Financial Services, while the KP was pulled off by Robin Seibold with a 34’6”, making her Inland Cellular team proud.

Side Game winners included Bob Fancher in the Great Genie Ball Drop and Marshmallow Drive top entrant, Jeff Kehl.
