Golf teams roll on

WARDEN — The Warden girls golf team is rolling at the right time of the season.

The Lady Cougars wrapped up a successful week by defeated Cascade (Leavenworth) yesterday, winning 460-502, despite not having their top two golfers on hand.

Lara Crow’s 106 and Haley Buck’s 109 led Warden’s charge to victory.

On Tuesday, Warden swept three South Central Athletic Conference (SCAC) rivals with a low-score of 238, outdistancing LaSalle (454), Royal (484), and Connell (inc.).

Royal’s Lacy Goroski was medalist with a 92, but the Lady Knights couldn’t fend off Warden’s team led by Crow’s 102 and Buck’s 104, while Taylor Edson shot a 106.

Othello girls complete

PROSSER — At Black Rock Creek in Prosser, the Othello Lady Huskies may have matched up with two incomplete squads but their own game was anything but.

Othello shot a formidable 411, led by Devyn Olson’s medalist score of 90 to cruise over Prosser and Wapato.

Paulie Garza’s 101, Delaney Towle’s 109, and Carolina Borba’s 111 were other Othello scorers.

Warden boys hold on

WARDEN — Led by Nate Stott’s 89 and Trent Bates’ 93, the Warden Cougars defeated Cascade Leavenworth 371-387 yesterday.

Brandon Wurzer hit a 94 and Caleb Caballero scored a 99 to lead the surging Cougars as the post season nears.

Ephrata Tigers roll

 SOAP LAKE — A score of 318 was plenty good for the Ephrata Tigers as they rolled past Wapato and Ellensburg yesterday.

Andrew Whalen shot two-under 69 to lead the Ephrata charge as medalist honors.
