Furniture West helps with Mother's Day

MOSES LAKE — In December, Cindy Carter gave one of her rocking recliners to her daughter, Rikki, who just had a baby.

So for the past five months, Carter was short one chair in her home.

Last week, Carter, of Royal City, was rewarded for her generosity.

She won a brown Lane rocking recliner at a drawing during the Taste of Home Cooking School Show.

The chair was donated by the Moses Lake business Furniture West. It currently sells for $499, said John Querin, the store’s assistant manager.

“I am really excited,” Carter says. “I never win anything. Never a grand prize, ever … It was a very generous donation. This is quite the Mother’s Day present too.”

She was making arrangements to have her chair delivered Thursday.
