MOSES LAKE — Grant County PUD customer service employees received more than 600 calls to report problems associated with Monday’s high winds.
Combined with other business, a total of 1,000 people contacted the PUD’s customer service department Monday, said Rita Bjork, a PUD spokesperson, told the Columbia Basin Herald on Tuesday.
That number is more than double the number of calls reported last month, when the PUD received 440 customer service calls.
Some of the customer calls were combined Monday to reflect multiple outages in the same location. As a result, it was believed only 106 trouble reports were received.
Power was restored to most customers by Tuesday.
