YAKIMA — Led by coach Lori Baker, the Moses Lake High School Molahiettes brought home three state championships in kick, dance, and military on Friday at the Dance/Drill State Championships.

In military, Moses Lake recorded the highest team score in any category with a Superior score of 489 points, beating out Shorewood (460).The Molahiettes captured the dance title with the only Superior rating, scoring a 454.5, outdistancing Kentridge (448.25).

The squad also nabbed the kick title with a 479 Superior score to nip runner-up Kentridge’s tally of 465.

Moses Lake swept all three events they entered.

Since August, the squad practiced five mornings a week starting at 6:15 a.m. and threw in a couple nights a week of work for good measure.

“The main thing is that I asked the girls to give it everything they got because there are no second chances,” Molahiettes coach Lori Baker said. “They did and they really danced to perfection. We were pretty intense. We didn’t win a state championship last year and had the focus of that this year. We hoped the hard work would pay off. They are not a group of laid back girls.”

The 2009-2010 Molahiettes are, Mackenzie Baker, Dayna Bergeson, Mattie Bergeson, Camiel Bruneel, Samantha Calder, Aja Clardy, Kendall Earl, Kylie Earl, Mckayla Earl, Nicole Erhardt, Lauren Frey, Ciarra Garza, Breanna Haddican, Kayci Johnson, Shelby Johnson, Kylla Kooima, Caitlynn Lawson, Chelsea Manly, Kendra Moberg, Karlee Pearsall, Zoey Pyle, Katelynn Reed, Kiersten Redal, Mckenna Reis, Megan Roylance, Amber Sainsbury, and Micaiah Stones.
