CELLPHONES

| March 25, 2010 9:00 PM

I was watching the news and they want to ticket teens for using cellphones or texting while driving. Why just teens? You can’t tell me older people can talk or be texting and still be a safe driver.

I do not have a cellphone and do not wish to have one, but if I did I would not be talking or texting while driving. We need to watch where we are driving or pull over and talk.

I have kids, grandkids and great-grands. Gee, do we really think discrimination against our teens is the right way? I think life is very hard for our kids today. It sure is not like the 1950s.

What would this say to our teens if they were ticketed for this? Its OK to use your cell phone while driving after you turn 20.

Believe me, cellphones are out of hand. Don’t you just love it when you’re shopping and there they are with their baskets in the middle of the aisle, talking? Please this is a place to shop. And I’m sure you don’t think about it, but some people are not interested in your phone conversation.

I’m happy to say they are going to bring driving while using cellphones to a vote. I will hope for the best. Yes, there are times one needs to use them, but please let us use our heads. Maybe you could be the one saving someone’s life.
