Four people arrested for rioting at fairgrounds
MOSES LAKE — Four people were arrested for felony rioting at the Grant County Fairgrounds Saturday night.
Salvador Corona Jr., 26, Quincy, was arrested for felony rioting and criminal trespassing in the second degree.
Freddy Olivares, 25, Moses Lake, and Antonio Tavera Corona, 22, Quincy, were arrested for felony rioting.
Ricardo Casares, 19, Sunnyside, was arrested for felony rioting and malicious mischief in the second degree.
Grant County Undersheriff John Turley explained seven males wearing red were seen walking toward the north entrance to the fairgrounds in the area of law enforcement.
Casares reportedly began jumping on a vehicle.
Police told him to stop and determined the vehicle did not belong to him. The owner was located and advised there was no damage.
Casares was detained and searched, Turley said. A gun magazine was reportedly felt in one of his pockets during a pat down. The six other subjects were subsequently patted down.
A semiautomatic was reportedly located on Salvador Corona Jr.’s person and was taken for safekeeping, Turley said.
The seven subjects were told to leave from the fairgrounds and released.
Shortly after the incident, a male called emergency dispatch advising he was surrounded by several subjects and needed help in the fairgrounds parking lot, he said. The victim reported one subject yelled at him.
The same seven subjects were seen in the parking lot when law enforcement arrived, Turley said.
A high-risk vehicle stop was conducted on Salvador Corona Jr. because he was found in the parking lot driving a Lincoln Navigator, he said. The stop was high-risk because they previously found the reported firearm in his possession.
A firearm was allegedly seen in the vehicle, which was impounded pending a search warrant, Turley said.
The incident resulted in the arrest of the four subjects. The other three individuals were released.
On Monday in Grant County Superior Court, the four suspects were released without bond pending further investigation.
The prosecutor’s office was not available for comment.
