THANKS
I am writing to thank you for enrolling me in your Newspapers in Education program. For the past school year, my classes and I have learned about current events happening in our communities, state, nation, and the world. Having a local newspaper in the classroom allows us to read both together and independently; we can read about what interests us and what effects each of us as human beings. Newspapers also allow students to develop reasoning skills, separating facts from opinions. They can be used for students to practice their English grammar skills, but searching for nouns, verbs, and adjectives in an article. Finally, a gift of a newspaper can be a resource for writing a thank you card. Thanks again for allowing me and my students to participate in your program.
