Moses Lake to hold executive session

| March 18, 2010 9:00 PM

MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake City Council is holding an executive session meeting tonight at 5 p.m. in the council chambers.

During an executive session, the public is not permitted to be present with the council.

The city council will be updated on litigation issues as two lawsuits against Grant County are being heard in Grant County Superior Court March 23.

The meeting is expected to last about 20 minutes, City Manager Joe Gavinski said.

The litigation concerns challenging the county’s determination on whether or not REC Silicon is considered a resource based industry, he explained. The second issue concerns a possible breach of contract stemming from the county not dismantling the Boundary Review Board.

The issues will concern whether or not the city or the county will be entitled to certain tax bases.
