It is incredible to me that the majority of golfers I contact actually believe they are not capable of walking the golf course!  No wonder healthcare is so expensive: many of us are in such poor physical condition that we are inviting clogged arteries.  That should be motivation enough to walk, but here are ten more reasons to get out of that golf car….
  • Golf on foot is more relaxing and sociable
  • Golf is cheaper without the golf car.
  • Walking is "green".
  • Golf cars are harder on the turfgrass.
  • The incidence of type II diabetes is exploding and lack of exercise is a major factor.
  • Speed Carts and battery powered pull carts make walking easier than ever.
  • If you need a golf car to carry the beer, you have a problem.
  • A golfer in better condition will play better, enjoy the game more, and live better.
  • Walking is the tradition of the game.
  • We never saw Arnie riding up the 18th at the US Open waving to the fans!

To be sure, there is a place for golf cars in the game, but unless you have health issues or its 100 degrees outside, why not walk? If you get tired, you can always pick up a golf car at the turn.
