MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake resident Christine Davis received a special gift for her birthday.

The 3-year-old appeared on Sprout Television Network’s preschool show PICME. Davis was her own character in an episode of the show called “Spot the Difference.”

A digital image of Davis is appeared on an animated body as she stars in the five-minute animated show alongside animal friends. Sprout chooses a new child’s photo every weekday at random to mold into a character for the show.

“We’ve been watching the Sprout channel for about a year now and Christine finds it fascinating,” said mom Josephine Davis. “The characters are so cute. Her favorite character is the animal Juno and she is always talking about it.”

The episode starring Christine was available on DirecTV channel 295.

“The idea of having Christine’s face appear on television is so exciting,” Josephine said. “I think she is pleased about it, but the reality of it hasn’t sunk in yet.”

Josephine wanted to submit her daughter for the show as soon as she discovered how to do it.

“I had a great photo of Christine and thought she’d be good for it,” Josephine said. “It was a pretty simple process. You just go to Sprout’s Web site and submit a photo and Sprout does the rest.”

Christine helped her mom submit the photo, Josephine said.

“I asked her if she’d like to be on the show and her eyes brightened up in excitement,” Josephine said. “I showed her the Web site and she loved it.”

Mother and daughter heard back from the television station right away.

“I was surprised at how fast Christine was chosen,” Josephine said. “This is a great present to give her for her upcoming birthday.”
