Barbara E. Ritchie

Barbara E. Ritchie, age 73 passed away on March 7, 2010 at home in Eltopia, Washington. She was born on January 21, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio to Edith (Benjamin) and Raymond Murphy.

Barbara met her husband Alex R. Ritchie in 1970 in Pasco, Washington after a five year courtship they married in 1975. Barbara and Alex moved to Moses Lake for a short time before relocating to the Tri-Cities area where they raised their children. Barbara and Alex spent their winters in Arizona, where they liked to play in the gold fields.

Barbara’s favorite pastimes include fishing, gold mining, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed going out dancing.

Barbara is survived by John D. Roy, Tammy Buyse, Sherry Linhoff, and Richard Laws, 10 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Peggy Longston and Evelyn Hett.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years Alex Ritchie, her mother Edith Homer, grandmother Viola Benjamin, sister Edith Ray Wormer and her pets Little Bit, Sassy Sue, and Ghoster.

Viewing will be held Wednesday March 10, 2010 from 9:00-12:00 noon at Columbia Memorial Chapel in Pasco, Washington. 224 S. 24th Ave. Pasco, WA. 99301

Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 noon also at Columbia Memorial Chapel.
