Jamaica vacations are nothing but fun

Steel drums, a delicious taste of pawpaw (papaya) mixed with jerk chicken, crystal blue waters teeming with colorful fish darting around and colorful island ambiance all mean one thing - "Welcome to Jamaica, mon!"

Jamaica vacations are filled with fun, sun, sand and the sense that your family is enveloped in paradise. No matter if you're on the northern side of the island, which tends to cater to cruise ships and resorts, or touring around the island's capital city of Kingston, you won't have time to miss home while on your trip.

Jamaica's biggest attraction is Dunns River Falls in Ocho Rios, where tourists can climb more than 600 feet of falls, while at the same time keeping cool in the brisk fresh water of the river. Make sure you bring your waterproof camera, because the photos can capture fantastic memories of your family with water cascading all around.

With much of the island covered in rolling hills and tropical jungle, canopy tours are a huge attraction for tourists. Zip lines dangle seemingly precariously over deep canyons etched out by winding rivers. As an expert guide attaches your harness to a line, you can hear the thrilled yells of other travelers echo off the canyon walls as they zip along a different line. Canopy tours also offer plenty of beautiful Jamaican jungle scenery, so make sure you pack the camera.

But Jamaica vacations are nothing if you don't include at least one activity around a Bob Marley tour. Marley was the leader behind Jamaica's reggae music, and you can tour the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston where his original studio is located. Or a take trip to his grave in St. Ann Parish where you can also see the house he lived in as a child. The second tour is based in Montego Bay.

And there are plenty of other things to do as well all over the island -- rum plantation tours, snorkeling, sailing, deep sea fishing, sunning yourself on a beach, golf, tennis, shopping and much more. So search online for cheap airline tickets to either Montego Bay (Mo Bay for the locals) or Kingston and get started on your vacation of fun for the entire family.
