OTHELLO — Columbia Basin Health Association (CNHA) members added three new members to their board of directors.

Janelle Andersen, Martin Gallardo and Ross Bushong were welcomed in at the latest meeting.

“The CBHA Board of Directors and staff are pleased to welcome three new board members from Othello and Connell,” said Greg Brandenburg, chief information officer. “The addition of the three new members ensures that our diversity in opinions and input will continue to grow and benefit the company.”

There are 13 members of the CBHA board of directors. Other members include Everett Cole, Joe Montemayor, Kate Brueske, Maxine Taylor, Maggie Gutierrez, Dora Beraza, Enrique Miron, Maria Villa, Mike Garza and Barbara Walters.

CBHA provides a wide variety of health services including family medicine, pediatrics, immunizations, women’s health, dentistry, pharmacy and vision and eye care. The new members were voted in because of the different areas they represent, according to a CBHA spokesperson.

Andersen, owner of Othello’s Anytime Fitness, brings several years of healthcare experience to the board. Experience includes serving as the Othello Chamber of Commerce president, being a 4-H leader and working for several years as a respiratory therapy assistant at Othello Community Hospital.

Andersen has lived in Othello since 1986.

“If you want a good community you have to help out,” Anderson stated.

Gallardo has worked at the Warden Golf Course for the past 16 years. He serves on the board of the Inland Empire Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America.

“I’m looking forward to helping out in any way possible,” Gallardo stated.

Bushong works for Walla Walla Community College teaching graphic design at the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell. Last year he started a program with the state that allows him to teach courses at the prison.

He has lived in Connell for 20 years and has served on the board of directors for the Heritage Museum in Connell four years.

“I want to make sure Connell has representation for our wants and needs for medical services,” Gallardo stated. “I believe in CBHA’s mission statement and I would like to be an advocate for CBHA in my community.”
