PUBLIC NOTICE

Washington State Park & Recreation Commission, 270 9th Street NE, Suite 200, East Wenatchee, WA 98802 is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of Ecology's Construction Stormwater General Permit.

The proposed project, known as Steamboat Rock State Park-Bay Campground is located at 51052 Hwy 155 N in Electric City, WA 99123-0352, in Grant County.

This project involves 7.5 acres of soil disturbance for construction of a new campground that consists of 26 full hookup sites, a comfort station, a fish cleaning station, a 40,000 gallon domestic water reservoir and a 0.7 acre sewage lagoon. Construction activities in this project will include site grading, road grading, asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, structure excavation/backfilling, utility trenching/backfilling, installation of underground utilities, installation of aboveground metering and distribution equipment and site restoration.

Stormwater will be discharged to sediment control barriers by use of straw wattles, straw bales, and other Best Management Practices (BMPs) to contain all sediment onsite within the project site areas. Currently, storm water can sheet flow across the developed areas. Straw wattles and/or straw bales will be utilized in selected locations to contain any sediment caused by flows across construction site areas to protect adjacent undisturbed areas of native vegetation.
