The Moses Lake Trail Planning Team (TPT) would like to recognize and express our appreciation to the Grant County commissioners and to Grant County Public Works for their accomplishments over the past seven years in making our county a more active, safer, and healthier community with the many trail and path developments, including:

• The separated path around the College Parkway at BBCC

• The pedestrian/bike trail from Harris Road to SR 17

• The path from Stratford Road to Longview school, creating a safer route for children

• The path on the western edge of the Grant County Fairgrounds, making it safer for pedestrians and cyclists

• The path on Patton Boulevard from Doolittle Street to BBCC

• The widening of shoulders of Road L, giving cyclists and pedestrians a space to ride and walk

• The widening of the shoulder of Potato Hill Road, giving room to cyclists and pedestrians

• The bike lanes on Westshore Drive from Mae Valley Road to Moses Pointe

• The proposed bike lanes on Road 4, from East Broadway and Road L

The TPT is proud to have had the information and counsel of a Grant County commissioners at our monthly meetings for seven years. We would particularly like to note the years given by Commissioner Richard Stevens in developing the Larson Trail.

One testimony for Larson Trail comes from BBCC chemistry professor John Peterson, who bicycles to work daily on the trail.

“Larson trail makes my commute safe and pleasant.”

The current commissioner on our team is Carolann Swartz. The participation of these commissioners have informed and given wisdom to our decisions.

We would like also to acknowledge Grant County Director of Public Works Derek Pohle, for his positive role in shaping and completing the county’s paths and trails.
