Suspect named in Ephrata murder

MOSES LAKE — Authorities named David E. Nickels, 29, as the man arrested in Helena, Mont., Tuesday for the murder of Sage Munro in Ephrata in 2009.

The Helena Police Department served a warrant from Grant County to arrest Nickels for first-degree murder.

Munro, 35, was shot outside of his home, went inside and died in his living room on Dec. 29. He has an extended family and a son.

The murder has been investigated by the multi-agency Columbia Basin Investigation Team, comprised of detectives from several law enforcement agencies in Grant and Adams counties.
