George “Bill” William Anderson

| July 29, 2010 1:19 PM

1927-2010

Bill was born August 23, 1927 in Wallowa, Oregon and passed away July 25, 2010. The Anderson family moved to Wilson Creek in 1935. Bill served in the Army and was stationed in Japan and Korea. He later worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 32 years. His father, William Anderson, his mother Olive Anderson and his nephews, Jim and Sam Anderson, preceded him in death. He leaves behind two brothers, Peter and Kenneth Anderson of Wilson Creek, six nephews and nieces, eight great nephews and nieces and eleven great-great nephews and nieces who all loved him and will miss him dearly. Bill loved to go fishing and camping with the Pearce family years ago. But most of all he loved to help on the Pearce farm; working cows and doing anything that needed to be done. He would take his vacation just to help with the harvest. He should’ve been a farmer. He would have made a great one. Bill also enjoyed his brothers. He was always there for a visit or to help out when needed. Bill’s godson loved him like a second father. His friends called him family, and no one was closer than Claude Pearce. He will forever be remembered as a merry Santa Claus, a tireless worker, and a trusted and loyal friend. He was always there to help and never asked for anything in return.

The graveside service will be held Friday, July 30, 2010 at ten o’clock at the Wilson Creek Cemetery.
