DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSAL: Project involves clearing vegetation and beaver dens from the Priest Rapids Fall Chinook hatchery incubation building drain channel. An excavator or backhoe will be used. Channel runs parallel to dam entrance road from the hatchery entrance road intersection east to Moran Slough. This channel was constructed during original hatchery construction in or around 1962-1963.
A backhoe or excavator will be used to scrape the channel banks and bed back to near their original construction configuration. The material to be excavated will be stockpiled on the southern edge of the existing drainage ditch.

Priest Rapids Fall Chinook Salmon Hatchery at Priest Rapids Dam, WA Highway 243, 8 miles south of Mattawa, Washington and located in the NE 1/4 of Section 2, Township 13 North, Range 23 EW, M and in the SW 1/4 of Section 36, Township 14 North, Range 23 EW, M, Grant County, Washington.
LEAD AGENCY: Public Utility District No. 2 of Grant County, Washington
The lead agency for this proposal has determined that it does not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030 (2)(c). This decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the lead agency. This information is available to the public on request.

o This DNS is issued after using the optional DNS process in WAC 197-11-355. There is no further comment period on the DNS.
6 This DNS is issued under WAC 197-11-340(2); the lead agency will not act on this proposal for 14 days from the date below. Comments must be submitted by July 31, 2010.
