Rodolfo C. Ramirez (Rudy)

On Thursday July 22nd, 2010 Rodolfo C. Ramirez (Rudy), 83, a long time resident of Moses Lake, in the comfort of his home and surrounded with love by family and friends, went to his Wife and Father in Heaven.

Rudy was born April 10th, 1927 in Charlotte, Texas to Cristoval and Trinidad Ramirez. He first came to Moses Lake in 1947 where he worked as a General Laborer in Agriculture in the summer times. In 1953 he permanently relocated to Moses Lake after marrying the love of his life. From 1953 to 1965 he worked as a Construction Laborer on many projects throughout the Columbia Basin to include; Priest Rapids and Wanapum Dam Projects, Missile Silos, Larson Airforce Base and many other projects throughout the area. From 1965 to 1973 he worked as a Custodian for the Moses Lake School District at Lakeview Elementary School. From 1973 to 1986 he returned to the Construction Industry working at the Hanford Nuclear Power Plant in Richland Washington. He also had a trucking business from 1950 to 1976 hauling produce for many local farmers throughout the Yakima Valley and Columbia Basin.

During Rudy’s retirement from 1986 to 2010, he enjoyed all that was life; whether it was tending his bountiful garden or enjoying a cool summer evening or traveling with his wife and family. He always remembered to slow down and take the time to enjoy life.

Rudy was a loyal and faithful servant to God, he devoutly followed the teachings of our Lord. His kindness and gentility were apparent in all that he did. He greeted everyone he met with a welcoming smile; with Rudy you were always amongst a friend.

Rudy will be remembered through all the love that he gave. He enjoyed passing life lessons through stories filled with wisdom; those lessons and that love continue to live on in the legacy he left behind.

Rudy is survived by his only sister, Alicia Ramirez Arousa; children; Trina Alfaro (Luis), Mary Moncada (Jerry), Rudy Ramirez, Jr., Gloria Valdez (Mike), Pat Ramirez, Ruben Ramirez, Chris Koon (Randy), Richard Ramirez (Robyn), Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren; Carlos G. Alfaro, Michael Valdez (Tiffany, Austin, Zachary, Kaiden) Jennifer Carlile (Shane, Justin, Shaela, Joshua, Jase, Shanna), Louie Alfaro (Amber, Lainey), Jerry Moncada, Jr. (Amanda, Brendan, Ashlyn, Keya), James Valdez (Raelynn, Christopher, Alianna, Makina, Olivia), Adriana Lopez (Brian, Alexis, Alixandria), Vanessa Hendricks (Blake, Madison, Gunner, Holden), Joseph Moncada (Heather), Stephen Valdez (Robert), Jessica Ramirez (James), Rudy Ramirez III, Randy Koon, Alycia Ramirez, Roland Ramirez, Jordan Koon, Briana Valdez, Trey Ramirez, Selina Koon, Spencer Ramirez and Peyton Ramirez.

He is preceded in death by his parents Cristoval and Trinidad Ramirez, wife; Lucy G. Ramirez and his son Christopher Ramirez.

Visitation will be at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Monday July 26th, from 9:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Holy Rosary to be prayed at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Monday, July 26th at 6:00 p.m., Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27th, 2010 at the church with Father Felipe Pulido as celebrant. Interment will follow at Guarding Angels Cemetery, 2595 Road L NE, Moses Lake. Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel & Crematory.
