Child found locked in hot vehicle
MOSES LAKE — Police located a distressed 3-year-old boy inside a hot, locked vehicle Thursday.
A few minutes before noon on Thursday, the boy was reported missing from North Kentucky Drive, Moses Lake police reported. An adult male advised he hadn’t seen the boy since Wednesday night.
“While taking the missing child report, the child was located locked inside of a vehicle,” police reported Friday. “It appeared the child was in there for a few hours. It was approximately 90 degrees outside. (The) child’s skin looked red and he was covered in sweat.”
The child was unable to unlock the door and was crying, police noted.
The adult male unlocked the vehicle to retrieve the child.
Police advised the adult to take the child to a medical center to be examined. The case was referred to Child Protective Services.
