Two die as car crashes through pole
A car collided with a utility pole on state Route 28, six miles east of Soap Lake. Two people died and third person was injured in the collision and airlifted to a hospital.
SOAP LAKE — Two people died and one person was injured in a collision six miles east of Soap Lake Thursday.
A car traveling westbound on state Route 28 left the road, hitting a telephone pole and breaking it.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene and one was airlifted to a hospital outside of Grant County.
The highway was closed as emergency personnel worked at the scene.
Washington state Trooper Rich Magnussen said the cause of the collision was unknown.
No further details were available.
